Two-wheeled bins run on a single axle through the base of the bin, with a wheel on each end. The axle length depends on the size of the bin:
Not sure which you have? Check the litre size moulded into the bin body, or measure the old axle from end to end.
If the axle is bent or broken, or the wheels are too damaged to reuse, replacing the full set is the quickest and most reliable fix. You get a straight axle and two matching wheels, so the bin rolls properly again.
Looking after lots of bins? Our bulk packs of 20 sets keep the cost per bin down and give you spares on the shelf for quick repairs:
660, 770 and 1100 litre bins use castors instead of an axle. See our wheelie bin wheels and castors.
A 240 litre bin takes a 552mm axle. Our 552mm axle and wheels set includes the axle and two wheels.
They take a 450mm axle. Our 450mm axle and wheels set includes the axle and two wheels.
Empty the bin and lay it on its back. Pull or knock out the old axle, slide the new one through the base of the bin, then push a wheel onto each end until it is secure.
